It’s winter in California, and things are they way they’re supposed to be for a change. We’ve had 11.5″ of rain so far this season – which is 140% of usual.
However, our December watermelon didn’t make it. We didn’t have high hopes. The vine finally died, so we had to take a look…

I’m late replying to this, but I do read your posts Kurt! Bummer about the watermelon. That’s weird to see one with no color. Did you taste it??
We did not taste it. It smelled exactly like cucumber – and it turns out they are both members of the same family (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cucurbitaceae) – much as I hate to think watermelon would have anything to do with cucumber!
